Our story started back in 2005 when Ian, having worked on a number of holiday parks previously, decided to form IT-OK with the aim of providing IT and website solutions to the holiday sector. We recruited Hendra, Tehidy Holidays and Treworgans Holiday Park as clients, and we are proud to say they are still clients of ours to this day.
Fast forward to 2010, when Andrew, with a creative design background, joined and formed a partnership alongside Ian.
Around 2011/12, with a strong understanding of the holiday park sector, the idea of Pitched started to form. In 2013 we launched the Pitched brand and a new website bringing expert marketing and design support for holiday parks, alongside the sister company IT-OK. Flower of May was the first official client for Pitched, and again, they remain clients today. We are very grateful for the loyalty and strong relationships with our clients.
In 2015, Mike joined with a Journalist background to work on client content as it became key to successful campaigns.
In 2017 Pitched formally became a company in its own right and Beth & Rowan joined the team as designers.
2019 was a standout achievement when we won Best New Business at the Cornwall Business Awards. The team continued to grow as Grace joined as a Marketing Apprentice to support clients on their digital campaigns.
As 2020 hit and everything was put on hold, it gave us the opportunity to consider our priorities for the future of the business. We sold IT-OK so we could solely focus on Pitched and growing the business. With a flurry of work post-Covid, the agency had doubled in size and turnover and during 2021/22 we welcomed Zoe, Chloe and Luke to the team.
With an increased expectation from consumers to be able to book campsites and holiday parks online, Pitched Booking, our booking software built specifically for holiday parks, has continued to grow. We decided to make it a company in its own right in 2023.
In 2024, we took the opportunity to refresh our own branding to reflect the core services we offer; Pitched Creative – our design and marketing agency; Pitched Elements – our templated, subscription based websites and Pitched Booking – our online booking system.
The holiday park sector has seen huge changes over the last 20 years. From the rise of online booking platforms to changing consumer expectations and the demand for luxury experiences, holiday parks have had to adapt and innovate. Throughout these shifts, we’ve been right there, helping our clients stay ahead of the curve with strategic marketing solutions.
Marketing itself has undergone a transformation in the past two decades. When we started out, print advertising and traditional media were at the heart of holiday park marketing. Fast forward to today, and the landscape is digital-first, with social media, content marketing, and paid online advertising playing a crucial role. Most recently, AI has become a major force in shaping marketing strategies, offering new ways to personalise content, automate processes, and enhance customer engagement. As a company, we’ve embraced these innovations, ensuring our clients benefit from the latest tools and strategies to drive their success.
One of the things we’re most proud of is our incredible team. Some of our team members have been with us since the early days, whilst others have joined more recently bringing fresh ideas, skills, and enthusiasm. Our expansion over the years has allowed us to build a team of specialists, each bringing valuable expertise in different areas of marketing.
